Homebuyer Education Workshops

The Homebuyer Education Program is designed to support and educate homebuyers about the process and responsibilities involved in purchasing, owning and maintaining a home. Attending classes and acquiring certification for 8 hours of homebuyer education is a requirement of affordable homeownership programs, as well as many loan packages for first-time homebuyers. The Women's Center has combined efforts with other community organizations in order to better serve people interested in first-time homebuyer's classes.

Please see the Homebuyer Education schedule for 2010 class offerings being held by The Women’s Center, Orange County Habitat for Humanity, EmPOWERment, Inc. and Community Home Trust.

Legal Workshops

The Women’s Center offers Pro Se/Do it Yourself Workshops throughout the year. These workshops provide forms and assistance to prepare individuals, who meet eligibility requirements, to represent themselves in a court proceeding for divorce. Check our detailed listing for requirements and upcoming workshop dates. Each workshop is free and open to men or women. Space is limited; please call 919-968-4610 to register or email the program director for more information.

Also visit Legal Services for more information on The Women's Center's legal offerings.
