Volunteer & Employment Opportunities
Thank you for your interest in The Women's Center.
As a non profit organization, The Women's Center relies on volunteer support! The Women's Center offers a variety of short- and long-term opportunities to become involved with our programs, services and operations.
If you are interested in volunteering, complete a Volunteer Application (Word version or pdf version). You can email an online version of the the application to the volunteer coordinator or mail the printed version of the application to:

The following volunteer postions are currently available:
- Committee Member: Help with public relations, marketing, program evaluation, or program advisory committees.
- Career Programs Volunteer: Provide one-on-one assistance to help clients develop job search skills (requires a 1-year commitment).
- First Response Volunteer: Provide information, support and community referrals to Triangle area women who call or walk into The Women's Center (requires a 6-hour training, and a 6-month commitment for at least 3 hours per week). Next training: Saturday September 27 from 9-3.
- Program Attorney: Answer 15-minute phone calls from clients with questions about a variety of legal issues, primarily in the area of family law (requires a committment of 2 hours once a month). Phone calls are fielded from your office or home, so no travel is required.
- Financial Counselor: Help clients with budgeting, financial skills, and credit issues (requires a 1-year commitment).
- Special Events Committee Member: Help plan and coordinate events surrounding The Women's Center's annual fundraisers.
- Short-Term Project Volunteer: Assist with projects, including bulk mailings, data entry, copying, filing and special events.
- Workshop Facilitator: Facilitate a workshop for the community on a topic related to career, legal, or financial issues.
- Support Group Facilitator: Provide facilitation for an 8-week support group which addresses common issues that women face when going through the separation and divorce process.
- Spanish Translator: Translate written materials from English into Spanish.
- TCH After School Assistant: Assist in implementing an after school empowerment program for middle school girls in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro community. Requires a one-year commitment. For more information email the director or call 919-968-4610.
