Through Women's Eyes, By Women's Hands is a celebration of the vision and voice of women artists. The 2006 show received 506 submissions and of those 161 from 127 artists were selected for the show. Click here for list of 2006 artists.
The jurors for the 2006 exhibit are Moreton Neal, one of the initiators of Through Women's Eyes and co-founder of La Residence in Chapel Hill; and John Rosenthal, photographer, whose works have been exhibited throughout North Carolina and the Southeast. In addition to selecting pieces for inclusion, they will award prizes to exemplary artists.
"The number of applicants and the quality of the art work exhibited are on par with any art show in the region," says former Juror Moreton Neal.
Awards for art are:
- Flying Colors Award - $1000 Cash Award
- Cover Award - The winning piece is featured on the Show's catalog cover, plus $250 Cash Award
- The Women's Center Award for Excellence - Art Committee's Choice -- $500 Cash Award
- Ten Jurors' Choice Awards
