A Juried Exhibition and Sale for North Carolina Women Artists.
The George Watts Mill Alumni Center, The University Of North Carolina At Chapel Hill.

About the Show

The mission of The Women's Center is to support Triangle area women in achieving their personal and professional goals and the art show helps women reach this mission. Compared to their male counterparts, female artists generally remain underrepresented in galleries, museums and shows. Through Women's Eyes, By Women's Hands provides a high-profile exhibition opportunity for women artists. The Women's Center uses the show to build relationships with regional and national art traders and draw attention to the talent and diversity of North Carolina women artists.

The 2004 “Through Women’s Eyes, By Women’s Hands” promises an outstanding line up of talented NC women artists. Jurors selected 206 pieces out of 650 entries for the 20th anniversary of the show. With artists representing an array of media including painting, photography, stoneware, jewelry, and charcoal to name but a few, The Women's Center proudly presents the list of Exhibiting Artists for our annual art show Through Women's Eyes, By Women's Hands. One-third of art sales and all net proceeds from event sales benefit The Women’s Center.

Through Women's Eyes, By Women's Hands is the Center's primary fundraising activity, resulting in almost $500,000 in funds raised since 1993. These funds benefit the more than 6,200 women served by The Women's Center each year, supporting programs and services, such as legal, youth empowerment and media literacy programs, financial and career counseling, and support groups and workshops.
