19th Annual North Carolina Women's Art Exhibition to be held at the Sheraton

This year the 19th annual Through Women's Eyes, By Women's Hands juried art exhibition and sale will be held February 21-28, 2003 at the Sheraton Chapel Hill Hotel located off of 15/501 in Chapel Hill. The exhibition celebrates the work and vision of women artists of North Carolina.

Through Women's Eyes, By Women's Hands also serves as the major fundraiser for The Women's Center's, a local non-profit organization. One third of each art sale, as well as the proceeds from the events surrounding the exhibition, directly benefit the Center. The Women's Center is a non-profit resource center offering information, education, referral and support services to Triangle area women and their families.

Last year's exhibition had over 60 volunteers donating over 1,000 hours to help plan and organize the exhibition. This year, the art show steering committee alone, co-chaired by Elizabeth Preddy and Mary Jane Rivers, is comprised of 36 volunteers.

All North Carolina women are welcome to enter, whether beginning or established artists. Entries to the exhibition must be postmarked by January 6, 2003.
